After disassembling and reassembling it a few times, you realise that if the screws dug directly into the plastic, they won't hold any more. The plastic melts and flows around the knurled exterior of the insert, forming a robust bond that provides excellent pull-out and torque resistance. When heating your soldering iron, set the temperature to the filament’s printing temperature plus an additional 10°C to 20°C for optimal results. Hole Dimensions Refer to the drawing below for the recommended hole dimensions for the insert. The hole should be sized to allow easy insertion of the insert while ensuring no burrs remain beneath it after melting.
