The 4 cap screws on each ring are made from steel and the body of the rings are made from aluminum so you can cause damage by overtightening the screws. We recommend a max of 8 lbs torque per screw. If you do not have a well calibrated torque wrench for small projects then simply use the small L-shaped wrench that comes with the screws as it's small size will not allow you to overtorque the screws.
