Shars tools manufacturer is also an OEM that produces highest quality European brands. The manufacture really pays attention to the details onthe retention knob, as shown here on the flange, the straight neck, and the pilot.  Each knob goes through a magnetic particle test after heat treatingto prevent crack line’s and after this testing procedure, each knob will be precision ground on all critical contact surfaces, including the pilot underneath the flange area.  The pilot will ensure the retention knob body makes a better contact with the tool holder next to the threads which will reduce the vibrationand minimize TIR on the overall system (tools holder + retention knob).

• Other low price import pull stud are made from 45 medium carbon steel , but Shars pull stud is made from fine alloy steel, 20CrMnTi with heat treatment to HRC 56-58, which is equal to USA material 8620, better performance than 45 medium carbon steel. The price for 20CrMnTi is double of 45 medium carbon steel. After the forging process, the raw material can maintain the mechanical performance and flow line. This will ensure the life and stability of the material, after the material has been run through several heat treatment processes. 

• Using high quality alloy steel 20CrMnTi forging, the material is metallographic dense, uniform and stable. After carburizing, the outside of material is hardened, and the inside of material is still soft and has enough toughness. Therefore, Material has higher wear resistance and better toughness.

• Other low price import pull stud’s are machined by a turning process, but Shars pull stud’s are fully ground by CNC on all critical surfaces including a pilotunder the flange of retention knob for full contact between tool holder's taper end and retention knob. Precision grinding pull stubs have higher surface finish and dimension accuracy.  The fitting accuracy is obviously higher than that of machine pull stubs, effectively reduces the error of machine tool and cooperation, so as to improve the accuracy and stability of the connection and improves the precision of the machine tools and lengthens the service life.

• Magnetic particle inspection is used for crack detection to avoid accidents from occurring because of micro defects.
