The leopard is a long-bodied cat with a big cranium that has
comparatively short legs when compared to other wild cats.
Rosettes are used to decorate its fur.
It resembles the jaguar (Panthera onca) in appearance,
but it is smaller and lighter in build, and its rosettes tend to be smaller,
more numerous, and without central spots.
Black panthers are both melanistic leopards and melanistic jaguars.
