This offering is for an original early circa 1830's Slat Back Youth Arm Chair with an early beige paint over the original orange paint. The chair measures 28.5" in height to the top of the back posts and the seat is 14" to the top front rail by 14" wide. The chair features a woven hickory splint seat and a two slat back. PLEASE NOTE !!! There was a third slat that is now missing and needs to be replaced. The chairs construction is remarkable with open mortises. At some point someone also added iron pegs at each of the joints to reinforce it. The paint is a light beige over the original reddish orange and it's attained an excellent surface with appropriate wear and crazing as seen in our close-up photo's. There is wear to the the chair and paint as should be expected. There are a couple of tight cracks at the joints as shown and heavy wear on the front rung where people put their feet for years. There is a wonderful mellow patina that looks much better in person than it does under our flash photo's. The buyer will pay a fixed amount of $ 65.00 for Standard Mail and we will include delivery confirmation, tracking, at no additional cost.
