Turtles was a southern record store chain founded in 1977. They sold cassettes, records, and concert tickets. It was known for their deep music selections, gold coins used as gift certificates, and saving stamps given with each purchase. In the 90’s, Blockbuster owned the chain and they converted most stores to Blockbuster Music stores.
