Original patch for the US Army F Company 52nd Infantry Regiment (LRS). This units heritage extends to Vietnam, where F/52 was an LRP unit. Later when the Army adopted the Long Range Surveillance Unit program, F Co was given that designation. I am not entirely sure if this was intended as a helmet patch, or simply an unofficial patch. It is fully-embroidered fabric with a cut edge, and has what may be heat transfer coating on the reverse side. About 50mm by 62mm.
