Brass Barrel Crown Lapping Tools – Precision CNC Muzzle / Breech Polisher for Airgun & Rifle Accuracy
To be used in-conjunction with a cordless drill and progressively finer lapping compounds, this tool removes knocks and burrs and polishes your barrel's crown to an even finish so the bullet, pellet or slug has a true, unimpeded exit — a small change that can yield a large improvement in accuracy and consistency (and thus reduce your group size).
Can be applied to the breech or muzzle end of your airgun to enhance or restore down-range accuracy — This is an in-house, precision CNC-turned brass tool with various crown angles available — the brass is intentionally soft enough to carry lapping compound, working gently, and so isn't hard enough to score or damage the crown in any way.
Note: Lapping removes material — check progress frequently. If you’re unsure, consult a qualified gunsmith.
All calibres: .177 / .20 / .22 / .25 / .30 / .357 / .40 — suitable up to .50
Crown angle: Standardised for many crown profiles
Material: Brass (soft, safe for crown finishing)
Use with: lapping compound/paste (start coarser to remove defects, then step down to finer pastes for polishing.)
Precision CNC-turned
Soft brass construction protects the muzzle while carrying lapping compounds
Simple use design — for controlled, repeatable crown finishing
Restore or improve muzzle crown finish to help projectiles exit the barrel cleanly
Remove dings, burrs, sharp edges and machining marks that upset projectiles upon exit
Experience a potentially large improvement in down-range accuracy
Cost-effective way to revive or refine an otherwise excellent barrel
We’ve kept prices as low as possible, but with material and tooling costs continuing to rise, we will eventually need to increase prices on future batches. So it’s worth grabbing one now while they’re still at the lower price.
Unload & safe the firearm: never operate on a loaded firearm; follow all basic firearm safety rules.
Start coarse, finish fine: use progressively finer compounds for best and quickest results.
Lapping with a cordless drill: apply gentle pressure only, using a slow RPM; check your progress frequently.
Clean thoroughly before firing: remove all lapping compound and abrasive residue from crown and bore.
If unsure: research lapping techniques and procedures thoroughly, otherwise best to consult a gunsmith.
We also design and CNC-machine bespoke airgun components.
If you need a specific size, weight, or new idea — we can build it.
