One of the most famous of all passenger train paint schemes is the New York Central's "cigarband" finish. Its two-tone gray look macthed the "lightning-stripe" decoration NYC applied to many of its diesel locomotives in the postwar era. The New York central Streamlined passenger set includes four 16" cars, each with authentic car names: 2570 baggage car, 2572 Manhattan Island dining car, 2573 Queensboro Bridge Coach, and 2575 Windgate brook observation. The baggage car's doors open. The diner, coach, and observation cars all feature brilliant interior illumination and silhouetted passengers visible through the windows. Windgate brook's Illuminated drumhead reads "New York Central System" All cars have stamped-steel frames, detailed vestibules, and die-cast trucks with magnetic lift-plate couplers.
