Computer City was a computer superstore chain from 1981 to 1998. It was founded by Leonard and Myrna Simon in Costa Mesa, California. Tandy bought it in 1991 and launched Computer City as a national chain. CompUSA purchased Computer City in 1998 and transitioned the remaining stores into CompUSA locations.
