This photograph is from a very large collection of Meiji era photographs
belonging to Senator Lukens and his Wife. There are many hand colored
and hand tinted photographs and specimens that may be from out of the
region of Japan. Most every photo is approximately 8"-8.5" x 10"-11".
These are not small photos but of medium size and are great for framing.
Please keep that in mind when considering the price as many on the
market may be as small as 3" x 5". These are all from the original
period and thus are delicate albumen prints. Please inspect each photo
carefully as I have scanned the front and back of every photo in order
to represent the specimen as best as I can. Most are in very good to
excellent condition, while some may have sustained some slight damage.
Overall, this is an absolutely beautiful and immense collection of
photographs from a bygone era that should be well remembered.
The
additional (4) photos are previews of other photographs and items I have listed
and are not included in this auction. The (2) dinner party photos with
Senator Lukens are not included in this auction. The photo with
many various items is a small preview of many other items I am listing
from this collection and only the listed item in this auction is
included.
