This is a sad iron trivet made from cast iron. It can be used as a trivet, of course, or it can be hung on the wall for decoration. It does have some rust. I think the rust may come off with a wire brush. The numbers 1894 are in the design of the trivet. Not sure if that was the year it was made or the model number for the iron. Thanks for looking!
