This is a WWII era Military Aircraft Cable & Shaft Assembly made for Radio Compass Coupling to Radio Compass Receiver. It is 51-1/2” Long x 5/16” OD x 1/4” ID Flexible Aluminum Conduit + 53” Internal Tuning Shaft Assembly. This part number 45-71001-16 assembly is in new surplus condition. The internal flex drive has 13 internal splines at each end. The two connecting Nuts at each end look to have 5/8”-24 Thread.
If you just need the flexible conduit, you could cut the internal flex drive and remove it and you would be left with the 51-1/2” flexible conduit to protect wires or whatever.
