Build Logic Gates from scratch to master the basics of computing technology!

Logic gates are the basic building blocks of all digital devices & computers; they are what CPUs use to make decisions & store memory. Understanding them is an essential first step to knowing the binary system that makes all computers possible.

These kits are for beginners new to electronics & computing; you don't need to know a lot about electronics to get started.

Learning Kit #1 - Switches

This is the first kit in a series of three that progressively teach you how Logic Gates operate & why they are important to understand. The design for this first kit was simplified from transistors to push-button switches to help beginners understand the concepts without the added complexity of learning transistors. Also, the circuits are visually laid out on the board to help imagine the Logic Gates in action as the electricity flows through the circuitry.

After we master the basic concepts with push-button switches, we move on to Logic Gate Learning Kit #2 - Transistors. We learn how transistors work as a switch & then apply our Logic Gate knowledge to build the same circuits with Transistors.

And then finally, we move on to Logic Gate Learning Kit #3 - XOR. There we learn about using Transistors in pre-built packages called Integrated Circuits or ICs. With ICs, we combine all three of the simple Logic Gates into an XOR Gate, which is at the core of how computers store & compute data.

NOTE: This kit comes as either 'Assembly Required' or 'Pre-Assembled', so make sure you choose which option you need. But don't be scared off by the 'Assembly Required' version. This circuit board will be a great project to practice your soldering skills on; the through-hole components are easy to work with and the USB power connector is pre-soldered.
