Rare Vintage Wedgwood Hathaway Rose Urn/Vase 1970s English Bone China Nearly New. Condition is very good, please note some small markings on the bottom-side of the vase from sitting on a display shelf (see detail photos). Otherwise, the vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or crazing. All of the original colors and glazing are intact.
This lovely urn shaped vase is decorated on two sides with Wedgwood's Hathaway Rose - a single stemmed pink rose rests atop deep green and grey-green foliage. A small rose bud cascades to one side. The classic vase stands just shy of 5-inches, at 4-7/8 inches high. The rim of the flared mouth is trimmed in gold. The foot of the vase, as well as the fillet, are also trimmed in gold. Each of the three gold trim bands are complete and unscratched. The mouth measures 3-3/4 inches in diameter, and the foot measures 2-7/8 inches across the base.
The vase belongs to my Aunt Betty; I am helping her downsize her home of 60-years. In researching this item, I noted there are very few of this available in the U.S. Other identical items all seem to ship from the U.K. My Aunt traveled extensively in her heyday. It is likely she brought it back from England. There appear to be many similar urns/vases but those feature handles or ears on either side. This item is uneared.
The bottom of the piece features the Wedgwood back stamp, indicating it is made of Bone China in England.
