One of the best modifications to a Crosman 2240, 2250 or 2260 air pistol/rifle is valve pinning. It’s the first thing to do before you start the sometimes complex journey of modifying your Crosman air gun. Without this modification the valve assembly will move every time you cycle the gun and this leads to excess wear and pressure leaks.
There are several excellent videos on YouTube that demonstrate this problem and describe the “valve pinning” fix.
If you would like this mod for your gun and don’t have the equipment, skills, parts or time to do it, I can do it for you.
There are 2 options available for this listing. I have been asked several times if I can pin an extra valve if sent. I have now added this option. So if you do have 2 valves that you want pinning so you can interchange them in your main tube pick the option for 2 valves and send me the extra valve.
I am a Crosman 2250 owner with a unique set of skills, well I am good at engineering and have a comprehensive workshop.
I will first make sure your transfer port on your valve is exactly in line with the hole in your main tube. To do this I use a purpose made tool fabricated on a lathe. Every Crosman 22** I have worked on so far has not lined up correctly, some are worse than others. I will then adjust the Crosman transfer port locking hole on the base of the main tube to allow for perfect alignment. Then I will double pin your valve with 2 X M5 black grub screws placed exactly at 90 degrees from the transfer port on either side of the main tube. Finally I will open up the completed valve and remove any swarf and reassemble.
I am now have a listing for brand new modified high output Crosman valve called a JJ valve. So if you want to keep your old valve “standard” you could buy my new modified valve and this pinning service and I will pin a JJ modified valve into your main tube.
