1936 BLUE WINGED TEAL Ducks John James Audubon Print Plate Bird. John James Audubon (1785-1851) was born in the Les Cayes French Colony of Saint Domingue (Haiti). He immigrated to America during the Napoleonic Wars to avoid the conflict. Around 1812, he became an American citizen.
John J. Audubon was an ornithologist (Birds), naturalist and painter whom created detailed illustrations that depicted his love of birds in their natural habitats. He is the namesake for the National Audubon Society. Nearly all later orthnological works were inspired by his artistry and high standard.
This is a print, suitable for framing from my father-in-laws estate sale. There is a small stain near the title.
