George Deukmejian and Mervyn Dymally are also mentioned in this brochure, but not in connection with Ronald Reagan. There are two main Republican groups in California: UROC and the California Republican Assembly (CRA). The CRA is very conservative, and they not only didn't support Ronald Reagan, whom they regarded as too liberal, they actively campaigned against him in his initial run for governor. Ronald Reagan served as California Governor for two terms from 1967 - 1975, when he made his first run for President. UROC was not exactly rolling in money, as you can see in the stories, but as the State's largest moderate Republican organization, it had considerable influence. This is an important historical document on one of the most popular Governors and Presidents of the 20th Century, and also gives insight in the political situation just after the disastrous Goldwater campaign.

INSURANCE NOTE: I try to insure every shipment of $20.00 or more by ebay's insurance. Unfortunately, 2012 postal regulations forbid insurance on certain types of postal shipping services to various countries. Also, unfortunately, I now usually only find out whether an item can be insured when I go to make out the shipping label. If insurance is incredibly important to you, email me before bidding and I will try to see if the least expensive shipping service can be insured. An example of the international differences is that at this time, Canada apparently forbids insurance on all postal service levels except Express Mail Parcels.
