4 mm thick Closed Cell Foam coated with aluminum foil facing on both sides, reflecting heat in summer and winter
EPE FOAM as an insulation core is sandwiched by reflective silver foil layers (96-percent reflectivity).
The aluminium foil reflects heat very well, hence reflective category of insulation is widely used
in the construction of modern buildings.
The inner and outer aluminium layers are reflecting the radiant heat back to the source, while the FOAM CORE resists conductive heat flow.
The EPE foam consists of many small air bubbles trapped inside and that makes foam a good insulator, as the heat energy can't flow through it.
The reflective insulation is designed to combat heat gain and heat loss in all three forms (radiation, convection, and conduction).
As with any reflective insulation, it is important to create an air gap (a much higher R-Value can be achieved).
The product is an ideal alternative to other types of fibrous insulation and can be used for:
the roof space/attics, walls, underfloor/crawl space, sheds,
metal workshops, garage panel door, camper van roof and wall lining
pipe and duct insulation and many other applications.
