Lexicon 300 v3.5 Firmware Conversion EPROMs to 300L v3.5L
The availability of clones of the Lexicon LARC remote control elsewhere on eBay has raised interest in whether it is possible to convert the Lexicon 300 (with front panel controls and display) into a 300L controlled by a LARC. The benefits of doing this are that the 300L has a wider range of algorithms and factory patches, plus editing is somewhat easier via the LARC.
This conversion certainly is possible and is quite straightforward to do, requiring two firmware chips to be swapped for new devices. This listing is for the two new parts that are required. You will also need a crosshead screwdriver to remove the lid and either an IC extractor tool or a flatbladed screwdriver to gently remove the old chips from their sockets. No soldering is required.
