Unique and each piece is handmade from the weaving of the cellophane cords and stringing pony beads for pattern to give skirt a beginning and direction. Skirts are made in a med length to full. Skirts are trimmed slightly but easy to trim when layed out and weighted to avoid moving and to stay in place while taking Scissors to cut straight and even. I always make the first cut slightly longer than planned just in case. Once the basic skirt is made than I will hand shred bunches of the celephane roping to make skirt lighter, more flowing and can be used for execution dancing of Hula or also make a Tahitian skirt with waist belt decorations.

This piece is a piece that can be seen worn by men over black pants for hula, or a beautiful Island Girl whose hands are calling you and to tell you her story. Or adding a brightly Tahitian belt will really show off the tassel or feathered waist belt, that if you look around while a gifted dancer dances to the thunder of the drums, you will see eyes glued to the dancer in awe!!! . It looks like it may glow under black lights. The cellophane cord roping is a bit stiff until the strings are opened up and tear down middle full length. If you do want to shred than make sure to go all the Way up and all the way down. If you request a heavy shred than there will be a slight Cost is slightly higher due to the work and time that needs to be put into getting completed

The skirt will be more flowing with more shredded. This garmet has a wide 2” waist band accented in pure white pony beads. The measurement of the length is 22”and the Waist is almost 35”z You can slide the cord bundles closer on the central rope to make slimmer or just overlap the skirt. I don’t recommend Tying but to use hooks and Velcro since when you tie, there becomes a big gap in back. . Please see pictures for details.

Included are 4 latch hooks. You will need to secure with heavy duty string and important to tie the hook to the center white rope to assure that the bunch roping does not slide out to make skirt waist increase. This skirt is about a med grade of shredding currently. So if you have a luau, costume, a party or your watching on you tube how to hula or Tahitian, you def want a skirt that seats in the trade winds or to erupt and shake to the loud eruptions if the tribal drums.

Note: I normally spend 20-40 hours just to produce med shred. By taking time to split roping. The finer the finish the price will reflects. Keep out of direct light, heat and avoid around fire, highly flammable. Also avoid unsupervised child handling since could cause choking. If when first received and cording is creased, just take water misting bottle with warm way and lightly spray, shake and hang in warm room or area till dry.. Condition is New.

Mahalo for lookin!

The center dancer in the last picture, shows a dancer wearing a heavy shredded cellophane skirt. Worn on a trained dancer will show a smooth and

Flowing look. I have been making hula and Tahitian skirts out of cellophane roping since 1972 when our family resides in the Philippines on a military base. I had a good friend who danced for a Tahitian troop and some girls found constructing this type of skirt to take a great amount of skill and time. One

Skirt could easily take a full week of work on or if a few hours a day, easily 2+ weeks

Depending on how shredded the skirt would need to be.
