How to change cv axle ?

Step2: Removing the Wheel and Brake Assembly

Remove the brake caliper Unbolt the outer tie rod from steering knuckle Unbolt the hub from the strut tower
Step3: Removing and Replacing the CV Axle

Pry the CV joint. Insert the new CV axle into the transmission housing. Reinsert the axle through the hub assembly.
Notes: If the axle doesn’t immediately come loose, try twisting it back and force to break the seal.

Refasten the assemblies in the order you removed them Reattach the wheel Tighten the axle nut
Notes:Starting with the hub assembly to the strut tower, refasten all of the bolts you removed. Reconnect the outer tie rod to the steering knuckle next, and then reattach the caliper.
How Long Should a CV Axle Last?
A: CV axles are usually covered by the manufacturer’s powertrain warranty, which should have you covered for at least four to five years and 50,000 to 60,000 miles. As for whether or not the axle makes it past the warranty period, there are many factors that can impact its lifespan. Driving over rough terrain where there are rocks and debris can shorten the life of a CV axle, because there are more opportunities to damage the rubber boot that protects the moving parts. The same goes for driving in snowy or icy conditions, where salt and sand can also damage the rubber. In some cases, the rubber just dries out and cracks, which has the same effect.
