W.C. Fields (born William Claude Dukenfield) was an American comedian, actor, juggler and writer. His comic 
persona was a misanthropic and hard-drinking egoist with a snarling contempt for dogs and children.
Films include: Micawber in David Copperfield (1935), The Bank Dick (1940), My Little Chickadee (1940) with
Mae West, Never Give a Sucker an Even Break (1941). His long-time mistress was actress Carlotta Monti.
