Dark Light Relay Sensor Module was design as a stand alone cheap solution that can be added easily to new or existing projects. It provide perfect solution for automatic light control based on detecting the darkness level for gardens, homes, rooms, boats, cars, outdoor solar panels. It support DC or AC voltage source. No need to worry about turning on or off the light saving energy.

The Dark Light Relay Sensor Module is perfect add on for my Solar Panel Sunlight Tracker Controller advance technology, SMD low profile components, small size, solid state high power MOSFETs. Required for hobbies, DIY projects, sunlight tracking, high quality etc... I'm using one from my own design at my garden for the last 12 month working flawlessly, see pictures and movie clip.

I'm offering the sensor with relatively comfortable price to the benefit of DIY hobbyists like me.

The sun tracker controller is supporting the most common application of 12VDC +/-20% from a battery, or any other power supply source.

4. Instructions

The sensitivity of the dark light sensor can be adjusted using the trimmer on board from very light darkness to very dark night conditions. Turn clockwise for darker, need less light to trigger the relay or turn on the bulb. The light sensor can be soldered on wires outside the board if needed for better installation flexibility. The bulb or load can be powered with DC or AC voltage up to 10Amp current.

To test the sensor one can shade the light sensor or cover it will work by energizing the relay. the relay output can be normally open or normally close depending on the use case. Usually normally open is used, i.e. the bulb or load will be off until dark ambient light exist, pending the adjustment level, then it will trigger the relay to activate the load. The board can be installed in a close case/box yet the light sensor must see the ambient so it can be either a hole to exposed the sensor to light or the light sensor should be outside the case/box.

5. Power Source

The Dark Light Relay Sensor can work perfectly with the Sun Tracking Controller that is powered by using DC 12V +/-20%. The voltage source can be for example a car battery, Power Supply, an array of batteries etc.
