Maximum Gap and Surface Requirements

The adhesive can bond compatible boards to flat brickwork or blockwork where the gap does not exceed 5mm. The background should provide a firm and even supporting surface.

Do not use this cartridge adhesive to fill large gaps or level uneven walls. Instead, choose a suitable thicker-bed product, such as Vitcas HB60, when the installation requires greater gap filling.

How to Apply Vitcas Board Adhesive

  1. First, make sure the application area and surrounding surfaces are completely cold.
  2. Check that the boards fit correctly before applying the adhesive.
  3. Remove dust, grease, loose material and other contamination from both surfaces.
  4. Make sure the boards and background surface are clean, dry and secure.
  5. Cut the top from the cartridge and attach the nozzle.
  6. Trim the nozzle to produce the required bead size.
  7. Fit the cartridge into a standard sealant gun.
  8. Apply an even bead to the board joints or prepared background.
  9. Position the board and press it firmly into place.
  10. Check the board alignment before the adhesive begins to set.
  11. Remove any excess adhesive promptly.
  12. Finally, allow the adhesive to dry and cure before exposing the installation to heat.

Before Applying Heat

Allow the adhesive to dry and cure fully before operating the stove, fireplace or heating appliance. Drying time may vary according to the temperature, humidity, joint thickness and porosity of the surrounding materials.

Always follow the application and curing instructions shown on the cartridge. In addition, follow the installation guidance supplied with the boards and heating appliance.
