Please be advised that due to the most recent firmware update in Oct 2019, the generic/compatible cartridges may not be recognised by the printer in the first installation, however, user may try to remove and re-install the cartridge again and the printer should recognise the cartridge. 

The automatic firmware upgrade can be disabled in your printer's settings so that this problem will not happen again. If your printer does not have an automatic firmware update, then it should work normally.
