With prices skyrocketing an autopen collection of astronauts is much more affordable and within reach of many more collectors. When you cannot afford a personally signed autograph an autopen is the next best thing.

For those astronauts that sign a lot, autopen signatures can actually be quite rare. Like a real autograph, once the autopen machine is retired and or the astronaut passes, there is no more.
