Attributed to Zhang Daqian, this work is typical of this artist's style in the late 40s, when he experimented with simplified 'architectural' landscape shapes and the historical blue-and-green landscape, with gold colour highlights. (See for example p. 16 in Challenging the Past: The Paintings of Chang Dai-chien, by Shen C.Y. Fu and Jan Stuart).

An inscription, with a seal and a signature are attributed to this artist. There is also a collector's seal.
