This unique medal commemorates the moment St Thomas recognized the divinity of Christ after his resurrection by placing his fingers and hand in the wounds left by His crucifixion. It shows the hand of the crucified Christ being touched by the hand of St Thomas.

Thomas' response to the miracle of Christ's resurrection was to proclaim to Jesus, "My Lord and My God!" (John 20:28) St Thomas was one of Jesus' twelve apostles. After the resurrection, Christ appeared to all of his disciples in a locked upper room - except Thomas who wasn't there at the time. Thomas refused to believe that they had seen Jesus and said "Unless I stick my fingers in the nail holes in his hands and my hand in the wound in his side, I won't believe". Jesus must have been listening because the next time he appeared he invited Thomas to do just that! In awe Thomas was the first to call Christ "My Lord and my God!".

The medal was cast in sterling silver from an antique medal in the Rosa Mystica Collection so it shows all the beauty and history of the original piece. It comes with a matching holy card in an organza gift bag, ready for gift-giving, and was made in the USA.
