NGK Intake Manifold Pressure (MAP) Sensor

MAP sensors have become an integral part of the engine management system. Their task is to send information to the vehicle’s engine control unit (ECU), enabling it to control the air-fuel mixture needed by the engine to operate efficiently.

The MAP sensor measures the air pressure in relation to the vacuum inside the intake manifold. The power control module (PCM) uses the MAP sensor’s information along with input from other sensors to adjust fuel delivery to the cylinders and ignition timing according to current engine load/speed.

A malfunctioning MAP Sensor can upset fuel delivery/ignition timing, which may lead to some of the following problems:

- Poor fuel economy
- Vehicle won't start
- Drop in engine power
- Surging
- Stalling
- Rich air-fuel ratio
- Lean air-fuel ratio
- Detonation and misfire

Please note All sensors come in a factory sealed, clear plastic bag. We can only accept returns in an unopened bag. Please check fittings, plug & length (where applicable), before opening the bag.
In the very rare occurrence where an item may be suspected faulty, it can be returned for testing. This does not affect your statutory rights.
