Cacao THERMO SMOOTHING is a cacau based straightening system. Composed of anti-residue shampoo (step 1) and hydrating mask (step two), it treats and hydrates hair, reduces excess volume and frizz, and provides a lightweight feel and three-dimensional effect to hair.

CACAO THERMO SMOOTHING is compatible with any chemical treatment or hair type, with a duration of 3 to 6 months, excluding new hair growth.

Before application it is necessary to verify hair’s health, taking into consideration hair resistance and previous chemical treatments.

Step by Step:

OPENING OF THE CUTICLE

1 • Wet hair and apply the Shampoo, working throughout the hair, from root to tip.

Rinse and repeat the process two more times, on the last application work throughout hair and leave in place for 20 minutes max, assuring the opening of the hair cuticle. Next, rinse completely and dry hair with a blow dryer set on high until 100% dry from root to tip.

CONDITIONER APPLICATION

1 • Divide hair into 4 parts: forehead to nape of neck and ear to ear.

2 • Begin application with the help of a comb and applicator brush on the first section, applying from top to bottom to each layer of hair.

3 • After applying throughout hair, blow cold air over hair, drying 80% to 100% to speed evaporation of alcohol without causing irritation.

STRAIGHTENING

1 • Where the product is applied, divide hair into thin layers. Holding the straightening iron, position a comb in front as you straighten the layer from root to tip, repeating this process three times on the same layer.

2 • Repeat the process in small layers throughout hair where product is applied.

SEALING THE CUTICLE

1 • In order to seal the cuticle of the hair, a wide straightener and a thin straightener are required. They should be of good quality, with high heat capacity and without gaps when closed.

2 • Separating hair into thin layers, pass hair through both straighteners slowly at least 15 times, one after the other to maintain hair heat from root to tip.

3 • Repeat this procedure throughout hair, layer by layer.

TIP 1: For perfect results, hair should be completely straightened from root to tip.

TIP 2: For blonde hair, work with a straightener at temperatures of 180ºC to 200ºC maximum.

TIP 3: For hair that will be bleached, bleaching should be done first, followed by color correction and sealing treatment.

TIP 4: When retouching darker colors, the coloration should be done after sealing of the cuticle.

For light colors ( above 8 - light blonde), coloration should be done before sealing the cuticle.

TIP 5: For chemically relaxed hair:

• Thioglycolate ammonium and ethanolamine: application of Portier Unique may be done on the same day.

• Guanidine and sodium hydroxide: wait one week due to sensitivity of the scalp.

RINSING

1 • After sealing cuticle throughout hair wait 5 minutes and wash with Portier Home Care Shampoo and Conditioner.

2 • Brush and dry hair with the help of a blow dryer.

TIP: In case of dryness due to previous chemical treatments to hair, the use of a Portier maintenance post-chemical mask is recommended in place of conditioner.
