About Merryvale

Merryvale Fabric Packets were produced monthly from 1993 to 2007.  They featured fabrics selected from a new fabric collection created for quilt making.  They are cut into six-inch squares and usually contained 26 pieces.   Fabric collections rotated to present quilters with a variety of new fabrics being produced by leading companies in the industry.  In selecting from individual fabric collections, quilters became aware of designers’ intent regarding coordinated scale of prints and colorways.

         Color Connectors I was designed by Heide Stoll-Weber and is manufactured by Free Spirit.  This company is relatively new to the quilting industry and is producing some notable collections under the able direction of Donna Wilder, well known to quilters as the organizer and narrator of the Fairfield Fashion Show.  

         Since its introduction in 2002, Color Connectors I has remained a popular and vibrant addition to quilt shop inventories.  Splashes of color abound in this exciting assortment, and these printed fabrics combine the unique look of hand dyeing with the cost-effective process of screen printing.  Beautifully mottled, these versatile fabrics create subtle and useful transitions which span the width of the fabric.  

         Color Connectors I will find an appreciative audience among quilters whose appetite for ranges of coordinated and shaded, brightly colored and contrasting fabrics is currently alive and doing well.  So enjoy, and happy, healthy quilting!  

Note:  Because of the intense saturation of color, Free Spirit recommends pre-washing.
