AFTER HIS DAYS IN THE BIG LEAGUES ENDED, HE WENT ON TO PLAY AND MANAGE IN THE MINOR LEAGUES. HE EVENTUALLY BECAME A SCOUT AND THE A's SCOUTING DIRECTOR. HE HAS BEEN GIVEN CREDIT FOR HELPING PUT TOGETHER THE GREAT A's CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS OF THE 70's.
