Experience India through the eyes of Amy Carmichael, veteran missionary of the early 1900s and founder of Dohnavur Orphanage. Lotus Buds tells the stories of the girls rescued from temple marriages and raised under her care, including 50 gorgeous sepia-toned photographs. Things as They Are presents a raw, honest view of India and Hinduism and was the first manuscript Carmichael sent back to her supporting churches telling the “real” missionary story. Churches at the time had difficulty believing her tale, which is why she prefaced this 5th edition with “confirmatory notes” from those who knew the culture. Overweights of Joy by Amy Carmichael is a moving chronicle of her work among women and girls whom she rescued from temple prostitution and from being “married to the gods” in South India. Ponnammal is the story of Amy Carmichael’s partner and primary helper in the management of the Dohnavur orphanages.

All books contain the original illustrations and are reprinted unabridged and unaltered from the most recent edition Carmichael published. These titles are bound with premium grade Luminaire cloth and will form gorgeous editions to any reader or collector’s library.
