- Original publisher's burgundy cloth, spine titles in gilt
- Binding very sound, nothing loose or detached
- Boards very good, a few light spots, light surface wear to corners/edges
- Spine lightly sunned
- Original dust jacket, very good. toned and foxed along folds and edges
- Tear at top of spine along both joints and all the way across, holding on by about an inch of paper along the upper joint (see photo) but still complete
- Very small previous owner bookplate to front pastedown, small old dealer note in pencil to ffep
- Half-title present
- Contents lightly toned, very little marginal spotting/foxing, contents generally clean and bright
- A very good example in the scarce original dust jacket
