Lionel had a dilemma in the late 1940's. They had just released their wildly-successful 2333 Santa Fe F3's, which cried-out for a matching set of passenger cars so that modelers could recreate their own version of the Super Chief. At the time, however, Lionel had yet to produce the streamlined cars that were the hallmark of the Super Chief, but the opportunity was too strong for Lionel to ignore! The solution was to take the normally-drab Madison-style passenger cars and paint them in bright red and silver to match the F3's. While certainly not prototypical, these cars represent a look into Lionel product planning in the late 1940's. The reasons why they were not produced remain unknown, but their missed opportunity then is your chance to obtain them now at your local dealer.

Shipping fees are a flat rate as listed for the first 48 states. The handling fees in the shipping come from the cost of expanses and delivery confirmation. We ship with United States Postal Service only, by first class or priority mail. The package cannot be shipped with batteries. Orders will be shipped out three days a week.
