XLR Female (mono) to 3.5mm Stereo
For connecting a Mic to a 3.5mm "stereo" input, such as on an iPod, PC sound card or HD camera, this cable enables the splitting of the mono signal and channeling it to both the Left and Right Pins of the 3.5mm stereo input.

For Balanced Mic to HD Digital Video Camera connection
For cameras with a 3.5mm Stereo mic input, the cable enables the Audio to be recorded to the LEFT and RIGHT audio channels.
