Norman Taurog was a former child actor and an American film director. From 1920 to 1968, he directed 180 films. At age 32, he received the Academy Award for Best Director for Skippy (1931). He was later nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director for Boys Town (1938) starring Spencer Tracy and Mickey Rooney. He also directed several Elvis Presley films.
