The Product
Brand new, genuine, UV-treated, two-component, elastic shock
cord (bungee). Extremely tough, high-stretch, polyester or polypropylene
braiding covering a strong natural rubber latex core. The cord is light-weight,
but strong, wear-resistant and long lasting. Capable of stretching under load
to about twice it’s un-tensioned length. Hosts of automotive, caravanning,
camping, boating, leisure, sport and outdoor uses.
Size
The diameter, or thickness, of the cord in millimetres. The
sizes are ‘nominal’ and may vary by up to about 5-10%. Not sure what you need?

Length
The length of cord supplied, in metres. We supply multiple
purchases as continuous lengths (up to 50 or 100m, depending on the cord size)
so that customers can combine items to select any length required. For
instance, to order 35 metres of 8mm in red, simply add a 20m length of 8mm red
to your basket together with a 15m length of 8mm red. We’ll make sure you get a
continuous 35m.
Size Guide
2-3mm: Tent and awning pole shock-cord, peg loops, outdoor clothing and rucksack cord, shoe laces, zip-puller loops and drawstrings.
4-5mm: Large tent and awning pole shock-cord, heavy-duty peg loops. Ideal for canoes, kayaks and small boats, tarpaulin and soft-cover tie-downs. 5mm widely used to string fishing chairs and garden loungers.
6mm: Tarpaulin/soft cover tie-downs for trailers, pick-ups, roof-racks, boats, trampoline nets and garden furniture etc. It can be used to make specific length bungee/luggage straps (see our ebay shop for hooks and other fittings), tie-downs or luggage nets.
8mm: Tarpaulin/soft cover tie-downs for trailers, pick-ups, roof-racks, boats, toddler trampolines and garden furniture etc. It can be used to make specific length bungee/luggage straps (see our ebay shop for hooks and other fittings), tie-downs or luggage nets.
10mm: Heavy duty tarpaulin/soft cover tie-downs for trailers, pick-ups, roof-racks, and curtain sides. There are numerous marine/boating applications. It's also used for trampolines and garden furniture etc. It can be used to make specific length very heavy duty bungee/luggage straps and tie-downs.
