Dodge Charger Catch Can Installation Instructions:  - (SEE image above)

1. Remove your factory PCV line between the PCV valve and the intake manifold.

2. Now mount the Catch can system to the front of the engine as pictured.

3. Once you have the UPR Plug n Play Catch Can mounted and secure install the hoses.

4. The longer hose goes to the PCV with a barbed fitting then snap the other end on the IN side of the UPR Catch Can.

5. The shorter hose goes to the intake with a barbed fitting then snap the other end on the OUT side of the UPR Catch Can.

6. Make sure when you install the bottom of the catch can you lightly snug the catch can, the O-ring keeps it locked in place.

7 You should check your catch can every 500 to 1000 miles in the first oil change to determine your when to check it regularly

What is the problem with your PCV system?

The Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system is used to recycle the gasses that leak or “blow-by” your engines piston rings and create a positive pressure in the crankcase. By venting these gasses along with oil mist/vapor from the crankcase and route it back into the intake manifold so it can be burned off.

This is a poor fix from automobile manufacturers because over time the excess oil vapor collects along the inside of the intake tract and forms a “sludge”. This leads to a variety of issues including carbon build up, retarded timing, detonation, power loss and even engine failure.

UPR s fix for the PCV system used on many engines for reducing toxic gasses from being released into the atmosphere and eliminating positive crankcase pressure / Blow-By.

What does a UPR Catch Can do?

UPR s Billet Catch Can / oil-air separator will condense and collect the oil vapor before it has any chance to reach the intake tract. As the gas and oil vapor enters UPR s can they pass through a Chambered filtering system that cools the oil vapor and gives it something to adhere to.

Then the oil forms into droplets and collect in the bottom of the UPR Catch Can so that they can later be drained. This is where the additional Chambered filtering system comes into play allowing only the clean air to pass through so it can eliminate unwanted blow by.

All engines have blow by otherwise there would be no need for a PCV system on your engine. PCV = Positive Crankcase Valve, which eliminates Positive Crankcase Pressure. UPR s Catch Can has become one of the most widely used and recommended cures for just about every application.

The engine size and horsepower level is not relevant to the performance of the UPR Catch Can. UPR s Catch Can has become a cornerstone by improving the Performance and Economy on any vehicle you install it on. Lifetime Warranty against manufacturer defects.

UPR SC Catch Can (Patented Technology) vs Billet Technology Catch Can Effectiveness Test

To start out by testing the Billet Technology time and time again and finding it's to be one of the least effective catch cans on the market very similar to import catch cans. It doesn't mean it won’t collect oil, what it means is that it allows more oil through than it catches. The biggest indicator was how OIL soaked the outlet hose was on the Billet Technology Catch Can. So to keep all the testing on the various 5.7L and 6.1L engines we were sure to keep the hoses and mounting locations the same. Then we mounted the Billet Tech Catch Can and the New UPR SC HEMI Catch Can in series to determine how efficient or inefficient each system was. Most important variable to get accurate results from both systems.

We installed the Billet Technology Catch Can inline before the New UPR SC HEMI Catch Can to see how much the Billet Tech was missing or letting through. A slight film is the most you would expect from a very well designed catch can. In the first week of testing the Billet Technology Catch Can caught very little oil and the outlet hose was soaked from oil. So we went another week and average a few hundred miles a week of mostly highway driving in 60-70 degree weather. This weather being cooler also should have helped the Billet Technology collect more oil as it would keep it cooler and thicker. At the end of the second week, we checked the Billet Technology Catch Can again to see the bottom was coated with oil now.

Now we figured it was time to check the New UPR SC HEMI Catch Can and see if any oil had made it through the Billet Technology Catch Can to the UPR SC HEMI Catch Can. We were surprised to find almost 2 ounces in the UPR unit. This let us know that the Billet Technology Catch Can allowed 80-90 percent of the oil collected between the two systems pass through it without doing its intended function. Apparently, oil was getting through the Billet Technology Catch Can and back to the intake manifold. This was exactly what we have been seeing and hearing from many Billet Technology Catch Can users and that is why we developed the NEW UPR SC HEMI Catch Can System.

Now it was time to reverse the cans and run the NEW UPR SC HEMI Catch Can first and the Billet Technology Catch Can second. After installing both systems back on our test vehicle in series for another two-week duration. We checked the UPR after one week, and it had just under 1 ounce in it. Now it was time to check the outlet hose on the UPR, and it was bone dry. Remember at the very same point in the last test with the Billet Technology Catch Can first the line was soaked with OIL. After the second week and hitting the same mileage it time to go through the results and check both systems and the outlet hose.

Now for the wrap up to the NEW UPR SC HEMI Catch Can vs Billet Technology Catch Can Effectiveness TEST. The results were very surprising to see the Billet Technology Catch Can only had a smell of fuel and no oil passed through the UPR SC HEMI Catch Can as it collected close to 2 ounces. UPR used to resell Billet Technology Catch Cans and has the best knowledge on the function and performance. Cans that are inferior pull through designs like the Billet Technology Catch Cans , Moroso Catch Cans, JLT Catch Cans and many eBay Catch Cans do not protect your vehicle properly. The NEW UPR CS Catch Can is a Patented Design that has Multiple Chambers and Multiple Chambers to allow it to properly coalesce and condense the oil and keep it in the Catch Can where it belongs. A properly designed Catch Can will give you better throttle response and mileage from a much cleaner combustion.

Most importantly it reduces the frequency of tune-ups as it keeps the plugs much cleaner and all the engine internals functioning more like they are in a controlled environment. Special thanks to LOU and Jeff for allowing us to use their vehicles to get testing results from real performance enthusiasts that have a vast knowledge of engines and performance.
