This is a Brand NEW "OE" VW Antenna Base and Mast. ( Original Equipment not aftermarket, Made by the Manufacture that makes it for Volkswagen, same part as a Genuine VW BASE and MAST ) .... This is the current "Updated" Antenna Base that VW just released, the prior versions burn out after time due to a faulty design. The Mast is the updated European model that is 8" tall. This is a Direct replacement part WITH the built in powered amp and circuit board. So if you have Poor or no AM on your radio, ( which is the first to go, then your FM signal will follow ) then your amp in the base has burned out and this is the part that you will need to regain your reception. This base is the same part that you will get if you go to a VW Dealer and purchase one from them. It will simply Plug Right into the Factory Wiring System and work. * This "OE" kit includes the New Base, Gasket, O Ring, & Nut, and a 8" mast.
