A large toggle (or ‘T-bar’ end piece) that can be securely fitted to a single shock cord, or shock cord loop by hand and without any tools. Very easy to fit and very strong. These large toggles are ideal for securing tarpaulins banners, marquees, tents, market stalls and gazebos. The toggles can be fitted to a single strand of 8mm diameter shock cord or to two strands of either 5 or 6mm shock cord to form a ‘toggle and loop’ fitting (typically used to attach a canvas or banner to either a fixed point or by wrapping around a frame and fixing back to the toggle).

For best results we recommend that you work with a clean-cut cord end. Wrap the cord in a thin tape (i.e. sellotape) and cut through using a sharp (Stanley-type) knife or heat-seal the cord end.

To fit, simply push the cord through the wide end of the fitting and all the way through its length. At the other end of the fitting, the toggle body is divided laterally into four segments each of which has a small tooth moulded into its internal surface. Push the four segments apart from one another to separate the teeth and allow the cord to pass all the way through the body of the fitting until the cut end of the cord is parallel with the very end of the fitting. The locking cap is then pushed on from this end, closing the segments together and pushing the teeth into the cord. Push the locking cap all the way to the end of the segments where it will click into place, giving a smooth finished appearance to the outer surface of the toggle. Finally, pull the projecting length of cord through the slot in the main body of the toggle and into the keyhole-shaped central aperture to create the T-shape.
