“NUTRITION SERVICE IN THE FIELD ”
Published in 1932, the purpose of the book was to provide the reader with information from the Report of the Subcommittee on Nutrition presented at the White House Conference on Child Health and Protection called by President Herbert Hoover.
The book is divided into three main sections. Section 1 describes the role of the nutritionist and other interested groups (parents, teachers, social workers, etc) and the challenges they faced in educating Americans about good nutrition. Section 2 provides information on organizations involved in providing nutritional service to Americans. These organizations included: National Agencies; State Agencies, Community Health and Welfare Agencies; Hospitals, Dispensaries, and Dental Infirmaries; Schools, Commercial Organizations; and Training Centers. Section 3 is a Survey of Child Health Centers.
Well indexed. Although over 70 years old, the book is probably still a good reference source for current practitioners in field of nutrition today.

- DESCRIPTION: Blue hard cover book with gilt lettering on the spine; 227 pp. No dust jacket is present.
- CONDITION: The book is in good condition. Binding is tight. Moderate wear to the boards. Both are a little dirty and faded. Corners are bumped. Lettering on the spine is very faded. Interior pages are free of marks or creases. Pages are supple. Previous owner's name is written in pen on the inner aspect of the front board. (see picture).
