This authentic vintage French hand hammered enamel on copper picture, known traditionally as émaux d’art, has a unique curved convex shape that gives the floral artwork a beautiful three dimensional look on the wall. Made in France by the renowned Helca studio, the vibrant arrangement is a reproduction of a classical seventeenth century still life by the famous artist Jean Baptiste Monnoyer of a bouquet of colourful flowers in a wicker basket. The entire copper panel was domed by hand using Helcas exclusive patented artisan process and sits inside a tiered gold colour wooden frame with a textured fabric canvas slip mount and a brass Monnoyer nameplate along the bottom edge. The reverse side retains both of its original paper manufacturer labels clearly showing the stamped Helca brand name and the official martele a la main French workshop guarantee. It is structurally solid and in excellent secondhand vintage condition with the enamel remaining bright and free from chips as shown across the listing photos and video. The ready to hang wall art piece measures 34cm wide by 29cm tall on the outside of the frame, with the central curved enamel artwork window measuring 23.5cm wide by 18.5cm high and the artwork has a weight of 670g as verified on the scales.
