Original Baltimore & Ohio Railroad (B&O) engineering and Valuation Department file documenting the 1926 retirement of the North Mill Track in Trenton, Clinton County, Illinois.

The file includes an original September 4, 1926 engineering blueprint showing the railroad track arrangement through Trenton, including Coal Mine Street, Sycamore Street, Commercial Street, Apple Street, the railroad station, and the industrial siding designated for removal.

The drawing is identified as Plan No. 1012, at a scale of 1 inch = 200 feet, and shows the location of the retired North Mill Track (T-2).

The project involved removing approximately 650 feet of railroad track, including a No. 10 turnout. The original authorization explains that the siding was no longer needed for freight operations and that its removal would eliminate maintenance expenses and an obstruction to railroad operations.

The physical track removal was completed August 4, 1926, with subsequent authorization, valuation, and accounting records extending into 1927.

The file includes the original engineering location blueprint, authority for expenditure, blueprinted construction and retirement estimates, roadway completion report, Valuation Department records, and related railroad correspondence.
