Sudershan is an ape in the human world, juggling with dream and reality. his dream is to go back to the jungle, his dream land (home) but on the other hand he wants to live a better life in the real world of humans too. The writer takes the liberty to overtly exaggerate the characters like children comics and cartoons normally do. As it's a fiction, the reader is expected to take the ability of the animals speaking for granted. Yet, the writer insists the reader from overlooking the intended amplification of Sudershan's personality, behaviour and the manners of adaptation. The chimpanzee experiences all the stages of a human life; he rises to glory, sweeps down to streets and finally sits in an Iranian cafe with his spectacles on, giving an account of his life, therefore proceeding his narration.

A delightful and original Indian graphic novel. Based in 70s Bollywood, the story makes you nostalgic for the old Bombay of Irani Cafes, Ambassador cars, larger than life film stars, and intimate "chawls". The art work is absolutely amazing, very original and brilliant. A simple story, worth the collection for any Indophile.
