An original signed autograph album page of Roy Castle (1932-1994), one of Britain's best-known entertainers, musicians and television personalities.
The page is signed boldly in blue ink and is annotated "ROY CASTLE" and "ABC 67". From a larger autograph collection associated with the ABC Theatre, Great Yarmouth, suggesting the signature was obtained during a 1967 engagement at the venue.
By 1967, Roy Castle was already a major figure in British entertainment, celebrated as a singer, comedian, tap dancer, trumpeter and all-round variety performer. Before becoming the long-running presenter of BBC television's Record Breakers, Castle was a major attraction on the theatre and summer-season circuit, appearing at leading variety venues throughout the country.
The ABC Theatre, Great Yarmouth, was one of the principal entertainment venues on the East Coast holiday circuit, hosting many of the biggest names in British variety, television and popular music during the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. The provenance adds attractive period context to the autograph.
A desirable piece of British television and variety entertainment memorabilia.
A genuine period autograph item, not a modern reproduction.
Condition as photos. Guaranteed Original. All items can be returned for a full refund if found to be not as described.
