This listing is for a vintage Strathon tenor saxophone mouthpiece. It is the model known as the "Adjust-A-Tone", although they are not marked as such on the mouthpiece. This is a very unique mouthpiece in that it has a movable baffle that can actually be adjusted on the fly while you are playing by means of a sliding 'switch' on the top of the mouthpiece. Moving it forward (towards the tip) will brighten the tone and backwards will make it darker. These were fairly popular with fusion and contemporary jazz players in the 1970's and 80's.
Tom Scott used one for quite a while.

This mouthpiece is in very good used condition. There are a few minor nicks to the facing, but for the most part it is smooth. There are no tooth indentations on the beak. The 'switch' functions properly, moving the baffle back and forth smoothly. There are no cracks, chips, or other damage. The rubber shows mild fading/discoloration. There are minimal scratches/scuffs on the exterior. This mouthpiece has been cleaned/sanitized.

Now for the bad news...I don't have the original ligature for this mouthpiece. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but due to the unique shape of this piece, it will not accept a standard ligature. It originally came with a special ligature that would slide into the grooves on the side of the mouthpiece. So, you would need to either find an original, or a similar type of ligature that happens to work (Maybe a Lawton???).

Please feel free to email me with any questions.

Thanks again for looking!
