This is an EXTREMELY RARE PROMOTIONAL ADVANCE REVIEW COPY of the 2001 Japanese CD ISSUE OF MILES DAVIS (ALL-STARS): Vol 1 & 2.

ONE OF THE JEWELS OF MY COLLECTION. I absolutely love all the Japanese issues above the rest of the world, not only sonically but for the fantastic packaging. I have another non promo copy of this CD and it sounds awesome. As a collector the most important thing is rarity. There aren't many of these around, and I can't find another PROMO COPY of this anywhere else in the world that is mint, brand new like mine, in fact I can't find a promo copy at all.

After searching for several hours, as far as I can tell, this is THE ONLY BRAND NEW COPY LEFT IN THE ENTIRE WORLD.

As the years go by, these albums are going to get harder and harder to find as CD production is falling every year. It won't be long before rare CD's are selling for more than vinyl. CD's don't wear out, vinyl records do. I grew up with vinyl but the only thing I miss are the covers.

OUT OF PRINT JAPANESE PROMO PRESSING. Toshiba Japanese promo CD's are the most sought after by collectors like me because the stamping and numbering on the inner ring of the CD means they make a separate glass master just for promo samples. This means only one metal master stamper is produced instead of the father-mother-stamper method for regular CD's. This means SUPREME QUALITY, or the best it possibly can be as an exact copy of the original master without any data loss in production.

Personally, I love collecting Japanese CD's, they are generally superior quality to the rest of the world on every level in my opinion. All the JAPANESE CD's I own are the best sounding in the world with very few exceptions!!

IT IS BRAND NEW HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED FROM BEFORE THE ORIGINAL WEEK OF RELEASE STILL FACTORY SEALED! Has been packed away in storage for over 22 years!

The original vinyl featured 23 tracks which were edited. This 2CD SET is presented with every track in it's original entirety as originally recorded. THE SOUND OF THE JAPANESE RUDY VAN GELDER SERIES IS SPECTACULAR. Remastered at 88.2 kHz through magnificent pristine converters. This double CD sounds amazing.

This 2CD SET does not conform in content to the original 12" Volume 1 & 2 Vinyl LP’s. The original LP’s mixed various sessions in incomplete form. This 2CD reissue presents the music of each session as it was recorded and in complete form PLUS 3 UNRELEASED TRACKS.

Recorded on April 20, 1953 at WOR Studios, New York City.
All transfers from analog to digital were made at 24-bit resolution.

Tracks 7 to 11 were transferred from the original analog master tapes.

I only ship with Australia Post Satchels (except for a few large items and very cheap items) which includes tracking, insurance and signature upon delivery. The satchels also give me enough room for protective packaging in a box to make sure your purchase arrives in perfect condition. This also satisfies PayPal and credit card protection policies for buyer & seller. All local shipping options in eBay's system are correct, however:
