Part two only [of two] from Spratt's, 'Obstetric Tables..', published in London by John Churchill, c185. Second edition, considerably enlarged and improved. 

An important medical work featuring hand-coloured lithographic plates equipped with movable paper flaps and multi-layered overlays (some containing four or five super-imposed layers) that can be lifted like a pop up book to reveal inner anatomical structures.

4to, period green cloth boards with original gilt lettered label to upper board. Original plain endpapers. The book measures 23cm by 28.5cm.

The contents are complete, meeting collation: [15], with all nine hand coloured lithographic plates with moveable overlays. This is part two only.  
                                                                         
Condition: The binding is holding firm, split to head of spine, rubbed to edges, and with some bumping to corners; boards rubbed and marked, some bubbling to cloth and with loss to edges of label to upper board. Contents in good condition, cracked to hinges at endpaper joint with cords visible, general toning, light scattered foxing and browning,  one page with ink underlining and with the odd minor mark. The movable overlays are in good condition with no rips or tears.
